The meeting commenced with an introductory address by Mr. Deepak Khosla, General Manager (Marketing), who welcomed the participants and highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering science-based solutions for the poultry industry.

Dr. Prakash Reddy, DGM (Technical), delivered a currently relevant and focused presentation on “Hatchery Vaccines and Vaccination: Catching the Future”. He emphasized on the emergence of pathogens which are critical for designing effective control strategies because it reveals key vulnerabilities, transmission dynamics (vertical), and potential immune evasion mechanisms. Highlighted the emerging vaccine technologies opening new fields of possibilities for disease control and disease management, which include genotype based vaccines, vector vaccines, immune complex vaccine etc. The novel vaccine technologies would likely impose completely novel immune pressure or selection for resistance with enhanced immunosuppression and changes in patterns of antigenic variation, tissue tropism, and invasion pathways, so should be selective. Lastly, he updated the Innovative hatchery vaccination methods adapted in India for mass administration with speed and accuracy with ease of adaptation of semi-automated subcutaneous vaccination, spray vaccination etc. in day old chicks with a check on vaccinal reactions, errors and miss outs.

The second session, “Improving Broiler Performance through Effective Water Sanitation and Precise Medication Dosing,” was presented by Dr. Datta Kulkarni, DGM (Technical). He discussed how good water quality, effective sanitation, and accurate medication dosing can help enhance broiler health, performance, and farm profitability.

The programme concluded with valuable remarks from Mr. H. S. Padda, DGM, (Marketing), who underlined the importance of adopting scientific and practical approaches to address emerging poultry health challenges.
